presidential race, mitt romney conceded to the president early this morning. danielle leigh is live in boston with more on that. danielle, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. you can see behind me the ballroom is completely empty. people filed out very quickly after romney made a very brief concession speech. all of that excitement from earlier in the evening just completely fizzled out, really sucked out of this crowd, and they walked out in a quiet disappointment. mitt romney congratulated barack obama on his re-election and expressed his own disappointment. he also called on leaders to work together to address some of the problems facing the nation. >> the nation, as you know, is at a critical point. at a time like this, we can't risk partisan bickering and political posturing. our leaders have to reach across the aisle to do the people's work. and we citizens also have to rise to the occasion. >> reporter: and supporters here of mitt romney hope that happens. they're looking ahead to the future and are hoping that congress can look to the future and try to reach a compromise, particu
